Professional therapist Claire Gaskin has been helping people to become the best possible version of themselves for more than twenty years.
She is a practitioner of a new and powerful model of psychotherapy, BrainWorking Recursive Therapy (BWRT®), qualified to the highest level 3 (the psychophysiology of mind and body), and is a founder member of the British BrainWorking Research Society.
Claire trained in advanced hypnosis and psychotherapy at the Essex Institute for Clinical Hypnosis and is a member of the Association of Professional Hypnosis and Psychotherapy, and the College of Medicine.
With a degree in Applied Social Science, Claire has a particular interest in identity. An early explorer of cyberspace in the 90’s, she was awarded first class honours for her research into how people interact and represent themselves online. Claire now works regularly with people whose problems relate to their core identity, such as clinical depression and low self-esteem.
A Year of Advice Columns
Claire has just completed a year in the role as resident ‘Agony Aunt’ for the Echo newspaper in Essex. She celebrates with a compilation of readers’ problems from the last twelve months in her new book: A Problem Shared.
Arranged over six chapters (Anxiety; Children; Family; Friends; Health; and Relationships), there are 39 problems covering a wide-range of topics, including how to overcome a phobia, ways of dealing with health anxiety and depression, and whether to trust a cheating partner.
Claire’s book offers expert advice to people going through the same problems, as well as providing professional suggestions for helping friends and family with similar issues.

“Having been in the same job for 13 years I was becoming very bored of the same routine day in day out, it was then without realising I started to go to the vending machine at work buying pasties and sausage rolls to eat at my desk to try and eleviate [sic] the boredom.
